Whether it be art quilts, painting or weavings; multimedia pieces, an exhibit she is curating; a praise report; or upcoming workshops she plans to attend or produce, here is where the information will be posted after words, for safety sake. She is working, creating, sharing life lessons and art lessons. When it gets hard she buckles down, pushes through, finds the blessing and gives thanks. New Port Critique Group

We went to Newport hoping for the best, wondering how we each would fit in, wondering if the bounty we bought would be 'enough'. All is well, the weekend went exceptionally well. Everyone lugged their work and we did the critiques. We all got the hang of it and are off an running creating our next works of art. Thanks be to She/Him whom delivers gifts.

Speak Without Apologizing!

As a fiber artist Valarie's tools include thread, fibers, paint, glue, dyes, looms, machines, stream of conscious drawing, the study of emerging techniques, plundering old magazines and books for the tried and true techniques, guts and courage. She creates from the heart and puts so much of herself and thoughts into the piece that you must look beyond the obvious to behold the full banquet.

She teaches designing you own art quilt, painting and mark making on fabric with fabric paint, oil sticks, dye, fabric crayons, stencils and markers.

Her favorite series of Quilt Business Workshops were designed to encourage individuals and groups to transform how they think about themselves as artists and the works they create. To review how they speak about their work, and present themselves.

One of her recent courses "Promote Your Work, Without Apologizing" was developed to urge those who work or "are still learning" in the art community to step up their game and broaden their playing fields! Can you answer these questions for your art work as easily as you can for your current position at your day job?
